Sony Soundbar + Wireless Rear Speakers + Sub
Sony offers three different current model individual sound bars that can be connected wirelessly to a pair of their SA-RS5 wireless rear speakers with built-in rechargeable batteries and also their SA-SW5 wireless subwoofer.
The cylindrically-shaped SA-RS5 speakers have a 10-hour battery life and 4-hour recharge time. A 10-minute quick charge provides 90 minutes of play time. They each feature a soft dome tweeter, a wide directivity woofer, an up-firing full-range driver on top for height, and dual passive radiators. You can activate Sound Field Optimization at any time by pressing the OPTIMIZE button on top of the unit. Each speaker is 5.8″ wide, 9.9″ high, 5.4″ deep, and weighs 5.3 pounds.
The SA-SW5 subwoofer features a front-firing 7.1″ woofer with passive radiator and is ported on the bottom. 130 watts RMS and 300 watts peak. Dimensions are 10.9″ wide, 16.1″ high, 16.6″ deep, and weighs about 29 pounds. It needs to be plugged into a nearby AC outlet for power.
Each of the three following Sony soundbar + rear speakers + subwoofer bundled systems are capable of 360 Spatial Sound Mapping which creates a soundfield optimized for your space enveloping you in 3D sound from multiple phantom speakers. Connect any of these sound bars to a recent model Sony BRAVIA TV with Acoustic Center Sync and both will work together as your home theater system’s center channel speaker.
Surround sound decoding capabilities include Dolby Atmos and DTS:X of course, as well as Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital, DTS HD Master Audio, and DTS. HT-A8000 and HT-A9000 are also IMAX Enhanced.
Each sound bar includes a remote control with batteries, AC power cord, HDMI cable, and a wall-mount template. HT-A8000 and HT-A9000 sound bars also include wall-mount brackets and a TV center speaker mode cable. SA-RS5 speakers include AC adaptors to charge them (or plug them into an AC outlet if you prefer). The SA-SW5 subwoofer includes the power cord.
Each bundle will be delivered to your home in three boxes which may or may not arrive together.
Sony HT-A3000 3.1-Channel Soundbar System Bundle
The Sony HT-A3000 3.1-channel sound bar is 37.5″ wide, 2.6″ high, 5.1″ deep, and weighs 10.2 pounds. It features an oval full-range center channel speaker flanked by dual racetrack woofers and a full-range oval driver each for left and right channel.
